SmartCityLab Milano is the ecosystem where ideas, people and technologies come together to build the smart and sustainable city of the future.
The project stems from a Program Agreement between the City of Milan, MIMIT and Invitalia. Promoted by the Municipality - Department of Economic Development and Labor Policies, it confirms the Administration's commitment to Smart City issues. They operate in continuity with the Smart City and Extended Digital Twin projects that aim to improve the offer of digital public services in the metropolitan area through the digital representation of the city, powered by data and information in real time of all digital services in the area.
The SmartCityLab Milano project has 3 main functions: being a certified accelerator of innovative companies operating in the field of smart cities; being a lab for research and experimentation of new technologies capable of improving the quality of citizens lives; and lastly represent the center for the promotion of urban innovation for the City of Milan. The goal is spreading knowledge and attracting investments by supporting businesses and talents in transforming urban challenges into concrete and scalable solutions.
